AMERICAN AUDIO VMS4 e Mixvibes ????

I'm toying with the idea of buying the VMS4 since a few weeks. Now it is finally out and the first responses in DJ boards are as expected: awesome.
1)
I would like to know if someone already tested the controller with MixVibes DVS/Cross?
2)
How does the internal soundcard of the controller work with DVS/Cross and will I be able to use the internal soundcard with timecode vinyl?
3)
And, of course, when will MixVibes provide the first official mapping for the controller? (Lazy as I am it I would rather customize a mapping than creating it from scratch.)

American Audio might of sold a load of this controller but what I've been reading in the last few months is that the build quality is crap to say the least.

The main output is very low and there is a problem with the output volume of the Mic to. AA are sending little adaptors out to VMS4 owners to try and improve the Mic volume.

They are rumours of a mk2 version, so I would seat tight for a while and see ;)

Or you could wait for the VMS2, which AA revealed at NAMM a week or so ago.

It's a ASIO card so it should be able to run Timecoded vinyl's and CD's.

Hi eldiablo,

while reading your post I had this feeling of a deja vu.
I really don't know why... ;)

I did some research on MIDI controllers. I bought an Hercules e2 because I used to work with CD/Vinyl for years and I wanted to see if a controller could make me happy. It did, so I need real controller and not a toy like the e2.
The three controllers I ended up with were the VMS4, reloop Mixage and Denon MC6000. Like Jim said I read a lot about trouble with the soundcard and crappy jog wheels on the VMS4. I already have crappy ones on the e2 - I decided against the VMS4.
I tested a reloop jockey 2 from a friend of mine and it is really solid and worked fine. But personally I miss the VU. The Mixage would be a better choice for me because of the VU.
The best controller I could find (beside the "the-price-hurts" Numark NS7) is the Denon MC6000. It is more expensive than the Mixage, but it looks like nothing is missing.

A few days ago a tough rival to the Mixage appeared: the MixVibes U-Mix Control Pro. I think it plays in the same price range like the Mixage and has everything you need for DVS/Cross (but no VU :( )

I don't how much you want to spend for the controller so my advice: have look at NS7, MC6000, Mixage and U-Mix Control Pro, ask yourself what you really need and how much you want to spend.

I will stick to the MC6000.

Cheers

It's in the work, fixing things with AA.
