Huge setback

I've been a very proud user of Mixvibes DVS 7, with the U46mk2 on sound duties. At the helm was a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop with 4gb of Ram and 250gb of hard disk. I was also proud of my immaculately organized music collection, monitored using AKG headphones. I relied on heavy duty audio cables for signal transfer, and Mixvibes Time-code cds that never let me down.

Little did i know

In a short span of time..... It would all be gone.

Robbed at Gun point, they made off with my laptop bag and the complete DVS system included.

At least i have the original install Cd, that's a start.

I regret not having them insured, but it's live and learn i guess.

The more important thing is the collection, if you still have a save or duplicate somewhere else, you're good to go !

Yes I was spooked for a while. It took sometime before reality hit home. I only had partial back ups. I believe a Topic on the importance of data backups for DVS users should be started.

Sorry to hear that man,,,, that's some hardcore stuff.
Cant say that has happened to me other than getting too drunk and leaving my bag at the club,, thankfully always away from the punters and everything has been where it was left the next day

On the topic of Backup's
If you are running windows 7. Use the included backup software to create a system image. This will create a backup onto a network share or external drive of your whole system. This then can be restored on your new laptop if it was to go missing
also handy for upgrading your harddrive without rebuilding your system!
