Turntablists : What brand of stylus and model do you use? The good and the bad? Just curious what you guys use on the forum. I use Ortofon Digitracks. GOOD - I use them because of the low wear, and high output levels. BAD - I found they dont last as long as the 'Shure' pair i also have. Cheers

I've always only ever used Stanton 505's. Never hada complaint with 'em. It was always a toss up for me between 505's and M 44-7s.
Until one company (hopefully Stanton or Shure) make a needle specifically for DVS, I'll be sticking with the 505s. There should be a specific needle for DVS systems. They would need a muchnarrower frequency range (just the frequency of the timecode) which SHOULD provide a better signal to the DVS software.

I have a pair of m44-7. I don't see myself use anything else, that it is for analog use or DVS use. the low wear and the high output + the life span makes it a winner among the winners (IMO)
Actually I don't believe in DVS carts being better, and certainly not cheaper, even with a narrower freq range, than carts for analog use. and if it works well for analog, it will work well for DVS. the contrary is not obvious but I understand some people spin with DVS only so...
