Hey folks,

after different threads about ID3 Tags and problems with them in Cross or DVS I was asking myself what is the best mp3 tag editor. I downloaded MP3tag that is - in my honest opinion - totally crap and I have tried rapid evolutio but Java sucks so hard (very slow)...

What tag editor are you using?

Greetings,

Steve

Personally, I use MusicBrainz Picard with 3 plugins: Cover art downloader, disc numbers, and Last.fm.Plus. That way I get full cover art on all releases, and advanced genre and grouping info on each track (even if they are on the same album!) It's great if you're just wanting to search through your breaks tracks and you think oh yeah, this one is good, even though the whole album is otherwise DnB ;)

Maybe you'll give it a shot. even if no tag info is stored, it scans the audio's fingerprint and can usually tag it with the real track info (especially good if you've just ripped from your copied CDJ collection, of which there's no Disc IDs obviously :mrgreen:)

I use Tag&Rename

Been using it now for about 2 years and I can't fault it.

A little bit late but here is my tagging favourite:

mp3tag

main features:
convert:
tag <-> filename
tag/filename <-> textfile
you can make your own scripts for editing
