mixvibes and notebook - question concerning soundcard(s)

Postby Wiking-76 on 17 Jan 2010, 04:21

hi there,

i got MV 5.11 and want to perform some music on a party with my notebook (acer aspire 7540G) - i dont want to use my desktop-pc.
in my desktop-pc are two soundcards installed - one for output and one for monitoring.
since my notebook has one built-in soundcard, i got some decent problems concerning the monitoring.
now i think about using an additional usb-soundcard - like a SoundBlaster PLAY! for example.
i also don't want to spend a fortune on this, because my party-performance will be a one-time event.

my question: is this supposed to work or am i going to encounter some problems?

thanks for your help,

Wiking

Hi Wiking,

You might want to enter your serial number into your profile and grab the latest update to 7.3, as we no longer offer support for versions under 6.

I'm having the same problem.. I'm trying to use Cross LE with Ion Discovery.. need support for running both onboard soundcard and external USB soundcard.. to allow for mixing and cueing. Le will only allow one soundcard at a time. USB soundcard is Creative X-fi.. Need help configuring Le to allow this to happen..

If the LE version only allows you to have one soundcard, the only way to set up cue/monitor functions would be to purchase a multi-channel soundcard.

Cross is normally compatible with one single sound device; however ASIO 4 all allows you to merge your 2 soundcards to create a virtual multichannel sound device that Cross will detect.
