Sampler Controller (need a reccomendation)

Well after looking around in the Forums and on-line I am thinking about the Akai MPD24.

I am looking for a controller that can control the volume, spd/mt and has on-time repeatability when using the sampler pad. Can or does the Akai MPD24 do this for starters?

I just discovered the usefulness of the sampler pad and like using my Hercules MK2 which has yet to fail me yet (besides some MIDI mapping I want to change) on dependability and functionality. The mouse works alright for sampler pad but when changing effects tempos, sending samples to the sampler and loading new songs into the players I loose track of the mouse pointer quickly.

Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

the MPD24 is probably your best choice. Take a look at the Korg Padkontrol too ;)

Korg Padkontrol seems to be a bit more complicated (not that I love the challenge of learning a new piece of equipment) than what I am looking for.

Overall why would you reccomend the Korg over the Akai?

I know Troubl likes it, but i'm not saying it's any better... i think i would actually go with the AKAI controler, as a matter of fact i own the MPK49 wich has an intergated MPD 24 and i'm very happy with the pads.

The Ultimate is still to test the pads in a store and find which one you like best.
