considering jumping on the Mixvibes wagon...

Postby NIGHTMARCHER on 28 Jul 2009, 00:45

Hello all,
I'm a long time DJ out of Hawaii and I'm considering making the jump. I have both Serato and Traktor Scratch Pro. I like to be the first to break a new product in the islands. I was one of the ones resposible for the whole serato movement here and wanted to push the Traktor system but I couldn't be confident that it wouldn't crash on a gig. Love Serato but it gets a bit boring @ times and I'd like to do more. I play everything from TechHosue to Dubstep and run a Dubstep duo set with my buddy every other week. Which system would better suit my needs? I get bookings for just about every genre of music which gets me a tons of gigs so I has to be pretty stable. Was considering Pro 7 because I'd like to rock 4 decks with techno stuff but how's the DVS with pro. Anyho intro with a question ALOHA

Hi Nightmarcher, welcome to the forums!

From what it sounds like, Pro 7 would be your best bet. I've been using it for a while now with Vista (gasp) and I've had minimal problems with it. As with all things audio, it'll take a little bit of tinkering and learning to get the best performance out of it. I'm confident it shouldn't take more than an hour or so since you've used other DVS products before. From my experience, it's been great to scratch with and the U46 works great at low latencies. The sampler is packed with features that are fun to explore and mess around with, you'll probably find some of them quite helpful as I do. 4 deck control works great with CD/Vinyl, but you can go up to 16 virtual decks total. That's just my two cents, but we'll see what others have to say too.

Peace,
Phaded
