I upgraded for free my Vista to Windows7 I did also a new partition Window7 on an another computer.
I think Windows7 brings big improvments, you don't need a lot of knowledge to follow Microsoft instructions, just time & patience.
The RC will be available at least through July, and there are no limits of the number of downloads or product keys.
You have some days left for this offer from Microsoft.
The RC will expire June 1, 2010,
Both the 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 RC are available in five languages: English, German, Japanese, French, and Spanish.* Just choose the version that fits the system you'll be using for the test, pick your language and click go to register for and download the software.

Downloading Windows 7 RC could take a few hours. The exact time will depend on your internet provider, bandwidth, and traffic. The good news is that once you start the download, you won't have to answer any more questions – you can walk away while it finishes. If it gets interrupted, it'll restart where it left off.
let's get the iso file to burn a dvd. (2.46ghz for 32 bits version)
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/window ... nload.aspx
Follow the instructions on this page & choose your Windows7 version (32 or 64 bits). Get your serial with your live id. If you don't have one you can open a new account.

Enjoy & post your comments here.

Being the testing junkie that I am, I tried both DVS and Cross on Windows 7 and the results very good. I used both the U46MKII and my Echo Audiofire8 and I had no issues with installation on both my HP and my Macbook White.

i have had windows 7 running for the last mi=onth on different spec machines
I must say Microsoft might be on a winner hear as long as tehy dont jam it with uselsss stuff like vista was but time will tell

I went to vista only to roll back to XP i felt vista was sluggish and too over secure for a home user
I'm lucky enough to be technet subscriber so i get keys for all MS products! but windows 7 is looking good
Im also looking at rolling windows 7 later this year to our fleet of 18,000+ machines at work, i've already done the image using the RC and everything is working without to much stuffing around
sadly XP support will stop at the end of next year.
