Unhappy Customer...

Postby Davy-Dee on 29 May 2009, 22:30

Hey man, I've been spinning for a while now... I have a full setup but purchased MixVibes as play about six months back.

To be honest, it's alittle unstable for me I've had so many drama's with it...I never use it. I can't remember where I D/L'd it from. Still got receipts for it and everything via e-mail. I've entered the key for D/Ling thing's like skins and upgrades. And the bloody site doesn't seem to recognise it. I'm pretty sure I got DL link from this website and it was legit. Otherwise it wouldn't have run with the key I was given...

As I said before, I have a full setup... two Vestax PDX-d35 MkII's, One Numark TT, Two Pioneer CDJ1000 MKIII's and a Pioneer DJM800.

I'm replacing the new Allen & Heath 4D Mixer/MIDI Controller as I have and use Ableton Live and can't be arsed forking out three and a half G's for a Korg MIDI controller...The A&H 4D was designed for use with Ableton Live and has all the bells and whistles you'd expect from A&H plus some...I got hooked the other week whislt playing on one in town...Best mixer I've ever used...no Word censored (guess you find it I love walking on it)!!

I've gone half and half digital and analogue(vinyl). CD's are great...but the time spent sorting labels and burning them sucks. Plus...unless your got the new Denon CDJ's or use a loop, sample or drum clip/machine...you can only cue one track per CD.

In a nutshell I'm not really happy with my purchase of MixVibes...It's work's for some...but has nothing but a headache for me. The latest patch(the only thing I can seem to D/L seems to have wrinkled out some of the bug's. But...I think there's still alot of work to done as it has had a thing with crashing for me...

The future for me now is to continue spinning Vinyl and CD's...and use 'Traktor 3 Pro' via time coded CD's and Vinyl. Which now what I should have done in the first place but was buying something else at the time...so didn't. Traktor 3 also has the avdavatage of having four decks...which I find rather appealing....MixVibes is great when you don't have a spare grand to throw around for something like Serato or Traktor and when your first kicking those beats off in the bedroom...but it's big disappointment for me. And not something you see and hear out and about at your local licenced venue...

I don't mean to sound like a whine'o and negitive...what doesn't work for some...may work for others...and hey...you get what you pay in the end...IMO...it's best to stay as 'industry' as you can...

Peace out all...check my website @ http://www.waxdj.com/djs/5508/

All mixes are streamable and availible for D/L

Based on your profile, it appears you've only used Home Edition. Have you demo'd any of the other versions?

Traktor 3 also has the avdavatage of having four decks...which I find rather appealing...

MV Producer is capable of 4 decks with vinyl/cd control and allows up to 16 virtual players.

My only question to you is why haven't you posted your problems in the help section so that we can help you? I'll agree with you that I didn't have the easiest time with it at first either, but that's not to say it can't be dealt with. I encourage you to give it another try and let us know what your problems are so that we can help you out :)

Peace,
Phaded

This product price is Mv Home x 8... at least.
The features of Mixvibes Home can't be compared with... Have a look to the price & features of DVS pro instead.

also, are you sure your computer is heavy enough and set right, maybe it's your laptop which is to blame.. i've done quite a few shows already using mixvibes and never had a problem, if you set it up right, there's nothing that can go wrong really...
and like the others said, you could've asked help on the forum...
also, home edition can't compare to the other versions..
you should've bought Cross or Producer, or set it up right like daniel did..

If the problems come from your computer settings you will have problems anyway with all softs with high demands to the cpu to reproduce in real time audio effects.

I've entered the key for D/Ling thing's like skins and upgrades. And the bloody site doesn't seem to recognise it. I'm pretty sure I got DL link from this website and it was legit. Otherwise it wouldn't have run with the key I was given...

For me you are a legit owner of the soft with a legit serial & you can access to updates here downloads.php?cat=1
You are well recognise & got all the attributes to get version Home 7.21 on update there.

I naturally use a mac as my means of running all my music off. I have another for production/editing...blah blah which never goes on the net.

I guess I started this thread to let off some steam...My heart is still set on Traktor for a time coded setup. And I can get it for trade. I'd still like to play around with MixVibes. But I'll proberbly never use professionally...just another non-stage instument for toying/sorting/keying...But that's about it. And not to say it won't be a vital piece of me playing whatever...who know's...huh?? I might change my mind...try the pro version of MixVibes....the only guys I know to trial the pro setup plays Happy Hardcore....which drives me nutz mate...I'd rather put a pot on my head and bash it...ha...it's reminds me of a programe I used to watch as a kid callend "Elven and the Chickmonks"...too over-pitched for my liking

I'm alway's open to new things and beats to add to my music. I guess that's why I wrote a big speach to get a break from over-producing...and the missus.... lol

Thanks for the positive replys guys...I need to sort some shizzle for my gig's tonight...Live prog set with some tracks I've just finished. And a Breakbeat set with the boys from Kranky...two heavy metal guitarists...a live drummer and me scratching away in the background....we also have a live MC and female vocalist who does a lot of work for me....gonna be a trucken mad party!!!

Laterz all...
