it seems they are prototypes for now....the buttons and knobs seem to be MIDI compatible from what i understand...seeing the usb connection at the back makes me believe this mixer is also a soundcard...nice!

Looking at the back of the new 05, I see the following that interests me:

Each pgm channel has a dedicated "through" port on the back of the mixer. This looks to me like concessions made for DVS users. You can leave the turntable plugged into the mixer and just plug your DVS box up to these inputs and outputs. I'll wait to see how it's actually implemented, but on the surface, it seems a smart feature.
The 05 appears to finally have an aux input (combo'ed with the mic channel, I'm assuming by the grouping).
The "Master Loop" on the back interests me. Personally, I'd see using it with something like sooperlooper (a software implementation of an echoplex looping sampler). Taking a stab in the dark, I would assume that it's just an additional channel that is overlaid onto the outputs.
Interesting that booth out is TRS, but master out is XLR. I have never really understood why people view XLR as a superior connector either, but that's a different discussion...

I am also disappointed that the 05 doesn't get linefader reverses, but they have to hold something back to justify buying the 08, i guess.

Also, I looked into the TUB1 interface quite a while back and never was able to get much definitive info about it. Going strictly by the connectors from the mixer, it's only 1 stereo channel in and one stereo channel out. Not incredibly useful for much other than recording your session and playing from one computer source into the mixer. Better than nothing, but nowhere near worth the hundred bucks or so a TUB-1 interface costs.

I'd be interested to play around with one when they come out. The 05 is looking very compelling, depending heavily on the price difference between the two.
