I have played with it for a week so far, nothing to strenous and I have to say I am rather pleased with it. A couple of bugs aside, I am satisfied with how it is performing. It works fast and there is more memory available to me. Usually I have 33% used in Vista even after disabling all startups while with Windows 7, it uses 23%. I like the new task bar as well. I think I will buy it when it comes out. :)

I was wondering if anyone else was able to give the Windows 7 Beta a go and what your thoughts on it are?

I tried it last week with mixvibes 7 & Cross.
I got the same point of view, it's an interesting development with less cpu & ram used on my computer (dell xps 2.2)
works very well with pro7 & Cross
very new gui also with a lot a pleasant features.

Seems to be much lighter, better for performance.
I will follow the development & won't refuse to buy it with a new computer.

I got to try it out with MV7 and Cross as well in Windows 7. Before then I used a DPC Latency checker to see how well my laptop would perform under it. I had the occassional red spike and yellow but then I disabled the wireless network and I got green.... ALL green  . I NEVER got all green. So after that little tweak I played with Cross and MV7. No underruns, no dropouts at all and I was playing for about 50 mins at some pretty low latencies. It was indeed an improvement and a more pleasent experience compared to Vista.
