I agree with you both. And I don't think they TOTALLY killed firewire. They just don't have it on their entry laptop as far as I know. There are still other notebooks out there that have IEEE 1394 (Firewire) connection which is 4-pin and there are plenty of computer motherboards out there that have Firewire. As far as netbooks are concerned, what has to be questioned is:
1. Will that port make it's way to the netbook?
2. Will it work with your sound card? And if so how well.
