What is a break effect?
Anyway, I play vinyl and I really think backspin as an effect button or smth is totally unneccessary. As far as i know you can do backspins on CD-s and MIDI-controllers as well. Don't want to be rude but it sounds to me like a "scratch" effect or smth , something a DJ should do him/herself and not effects doing the real work for him/her.

But delay and echo are my votes.

BTW Cross already kind of has "loop roll", you can do it with looping quite well I think.

I just wouldn't like effects that are duplicating some basic DJ techniques. Only things you can't do already should be added IMO.

In essence, yes. I was referring to Serato's Loop Roll and Traktor's Beatmasher effects, where you could basically use them as short loops, but when you're done it snaps back to where the playback position would be if you hadn't used the effect.

The old school way of doing this would be to sync the same track on both side, roll one and at the end, snap the crossfader to the other track that was still playing.

And yes the next update will have 3 fx (alpha testing now) and some more little things for a better life with Cross

I agree on the paper it sounds very similar but in practice it makes a pretty big difference and so no, Cross doesn't kind of have a loop roll to me. and i wish it did. that's why i suggested the beatmasher as one of the new fx. I hope you have something like that coming

What Mr. S means is that the choice has been made and is almost definitive for the next update (first Cross version with some FXs) and that Loop Roll and Beat Masher aren't necessary FXs. They can be seen/implemented two different ways:
- As FX (your point of view)
- As a playback feature (the one I prefer )

As the upcoming version is not aimed (yet) to add the Ultimate FX experience to Cross, the time has not come.

But these are definitely good stuff in a DJ app !!!!

so what i gather from the topic conversation is that the next step for Cross evoulition is the implemtation of fx and by making the best choise and building it so it preforms stable is the intent, and that other issue slike sampler, and playback fx, will be added /implemented later , and built the same fashion ,simple,stable and user freindly ,,is this is the course of action then thanks for the input and like many will wait and help out in the futher progress of Cross
