Wav has never had good tagging support, therefore I don't use

AIFF has the same issue with tags, but is better than WAV

MP3s even at 320 do lose content, and it IS noticeable on large systems.

If you are going to use lossy, use AAC cause it has a lower noise floor.

I use ALAC, or Apple lossless. Nearly all tagging available. Lossless. Decent compression rate. Able to be used in Cross. Able to be used in iTunes. Nuff said.

I use FLAC if I can get it, other lossless failing that, or wav and convert to FLAC, MP3 320 if I can't get lossless.

Everything I want to use supports FLAC and has done for years. I never liked iTunes: it not supporting FLAC is just yet more proof of how Word censored (guess you find it I love walking on it) it is.

I currently have 1.2 terabytes in my 2009 MacBook Pro so storage isn't an issue.
