Cant pre cue tracks through headphones

I do own an external sound card and still Split Mono does not work. So everything "sound" related is working through the external USB sound card.

I'm running Cross DJ on a Dell XPS 15. 8GB RAM. Nvidia 540M. Sound Advantage external sound card. Win7 Enterprise.

I am using the DJ Cable as the jack splitter. I tested this DJ Cable mobile devices on multiple devices with success.

What am I doing wrong?

give info as to the typ/spec ,maybe even a link for the external sc ,, and google asio4all ,, used on win systems to add a external sc to the onboard sc to be able to monitor/seperate the master and the monitor ,,,

You can't use spilt on Mac/PC you need a sound card

I have the same no cue option with 3 different external sound cards.

I've been testing Cross DJ free on my Macs after trying the iPad version and it is the software that is most like using my Pioneer CDJs - which are both powerful and easy to use. So big thumbs up there. And I have to say there's lots I like about the desktop version too except I cannot get an option for second output for cueing/headphones. I have no issues using my sound cards
with my Traktor setup, but when I go into preferences in CrossDJ there is no second option for output, despite the ext. sound card being selected. Which means the software is not really usable.

Problem is present on both my MacPro + MacBook Pro, with Traktor Audio2 mark I and Mark II, using both CDJ Free 2.6 and CDJ Free 3.0.
Curiously when I try and launch CDJ F when I have my Edirol FA-66 set as default sound card neither version will launch properly, hanging at the splash screen. But if I set normal Line Out in System Prefs/Sound then CDJ Free will launch, but then it's the same issue as with my Traktor cards, no second output option for Cue.
Tested on OSX 10.8.5, not tried it on Mavericks yet as the drive that's testing 10.9 is not currently in my MacPro.

I've spent a long time googling solutions, but they mostly suggest Win ASIO issues.
BTW - The Forum search was completely useless. It couldn't even find the forum posts Google brought up with the same parameters. The FAQs link usually came up blank too.
And trying to work out how to post in forum about this issue as someone who is interested in buying the software, but not yet an owner was also painful. It also seems I cannot yet upload a screenshot from computer either to show the problem. I see I can link to an online image, but not had to do that for many years now, so do not use Flickr or similar anymore.

Cross DJ Free - as I stated in post. The iPad app doesn't exactly work on OSX!

google mac aggreate sound cards ,,solution to use more than one s c in a system ,, not shure of the sc options in Cross free ,,to up load a screen shot use the up load attachments tab at the bottom of the posting page,, glad some aspect of Cross free you like ,,consider if you purched Cross to use your cdj in hid mode ,, or play videos ,, or t c ,, hope this helps ,,

I do not need to aggregate sound card as that does not solve the problem. I need to be able to get main output and cue out out of the soundcard that has the outputs I am actually going to use. I've not had this issue with other DJ software.

And as I also said in my post, I cannot upload screenshots from forum as I'm not registered. I'm not likely going to waste money on software that has already failed at the first hurdle, just so the forum works properly. I have now posted a link above to a screenshot showing the lack of options available.
I did wonder if it was a free trial limitation, but that would be completely crazy. A bit like a trial version of Photoshop that wouldn't let you see what changes you had done to an image.
