and if it works well for analog, it will work well for DVS. the contrary is not obvious but I understand some people spin with DVS only so...

So do you think that the ones (needles) they claim are specific too have a benefit for use with DVS systems (ie low wear, narrow freq range, better tracking) aren't really that beneficial?
Have you tried them?

Yes I do and no I haven't.

First I didn't mean to diss anyone who use that kind product, it's just not me but I'm sorry if you felt like it.

Second, to me, it's sounds like marketing trick for a wealthy market, it looks like it and it smells like it since it consists in narrowing the characteristics of a product to make it more specific to a market.
I don't need it (most of the time I still scratch using a regular vynil record) and there are products already available who are doing the same for years with similar specs with proven results
The Shure is one if not the best cart for low wear and the skip resistance so if it's just about the narrower freq, why would you pay more for less? doesn't make sense to me.

Nah no dissing felt by me mate! LOL

Was a genuine question... i hate the way the net does that
just to easy to miss understand points sometimes

Yeah it may be a marketing ploy; and i had the Shure m44-7s for a while, and they were great....
then got Ortofon Scratch ones, then the Ortofon digiscratch (i found they lasted a bit longer than the Shures) ones - for my playing style, and were around the same $$$...

The thread is just to find what users are using, and your input is much appreciated ;)
Cheers

I have a pair of Shure M44-7s, but most of the time I use the Ortofon Qberts. Better sounding and track just as good after they are broken in.
