Vfx questions

Hey everybody. Some questions about Vfx. I am interested in running VOB files. I know the minimum specs for your computer, but do you think the specs should be at running Vfx with 4 decks loaded with VOB files?
I am going to build my system, just curious on what you think.

We mostly use intel quad cores (Q6600@2.4), don't forget a good gpu.

Have you an idea about your configuration specs ?

(I have a strong preference for Intel/nVidia hardware)

there are a lot of good cpu available I use myself a duo quad intel 2.83 ghz. I bought it a year ago and it was cheap. I am sure you can find equivalent or better today around 150 US$

You need also a good GPU don't try the minimum specifications. Some instructions used by Vfx need a gamer setup to get all chances to never get glitches. A 2 years old GPU do the job (directX9c)

Looks like quad is the way to go with 1gig on the video card. How much RAM are you guys running?

4 gigs, awesome. I read the manual, I didn't see the list of effects. Can anyone give me a list of the audio and video effects?

Very nice transitions. What are the audio and video efx? I saw in the video demo that the flang had a video effect to go with it. Can u link any audio effect to any video effect?
