Re: Info on sound cards

  So by pondering the facts ,the solution is to use a single multi channel sound card and send the monitoring aspect to the second set of outputs to use as a monitoring source, same audio eng, same clocking speed, should monitor with no time lag,, the next question is why hasnt home 7 set up for that possibility since even if you had the monitoring aspect set up pre-fader it still would have time lag due to the difference in clocking of the two sound cards, kinda remember in the set up manual for home 6 that you could set up for multi channel audio cards :?: :?:

I hope that I understodd you right and that you are searching an audio interface. So I do not know anything about the Home editions but if you are looking for a two channel soundcard there are a lot out there (Maya, U46,...). I can not imagine that you have to spend more than 200€ and what you get is a multi channel audio interface with 2 stereo ins und 2 stereo outputs. So if you decide to buy turntables or cd players and you already bought this audio interface you are ready to rock ;)

Steve

  blackbrook  tnk u ,just want to have a software program and use computer only  just enuff to be able to have fairly passable mixes for my use, set up new comp 3 yrs ago with the best soundcard avaible ,,probly doesnt meet the critiea for mixing with tt and or cdjthought it would be possible and is to some extent, have used demo,s of vdj, also have free program called zulu DJ,,keyboard control is a plus, but no viable way of monitoring the mix is a bad limitation, yes home 7 is the entry level program ,and have been assured that the upper level programs monitoring set up works,, but trying to use what set up i have doesnt seem plausable to use Cross  would consider upgrading if i knew that Cross set up would suit my meager needs

I guess that any version - except the home and Le versions - will be something for you. With the right hardware i.e. a vci controller and the u46 MK II audio interface you are allowed to mix everything ;)
