Last night was the best Friday night I've had in a while. Beer, DJ's, rappers, and of course, us!
For those of you who've seen the videos of Kasper the MC floating around the forum, he was part of the Linguistics and they all showed up and we performed.
From a DJ standpoint, it was pretty good. All of the other DJ's were Serato users, but they were pretty cool people so I forgave 'em.
While I was setting up MV they crowded around because they've never heard of it before. Needless to say, that wanted the sampler, skin function, compressor, etc. I showed off the timecoded 45s and they thought the records were badass. MV ran perfectly at 1.5ms with little optimization on my laptop.
The opening acts had a tough time getting people to the front, but when we got up, most of the place was crowded around. Awol had EVERYONE up, but that's beside the point. Ha!
I got to talk with Awol beforehand and we shot the Word censored (guess you find it I love walking on it), got to tell him how much I like his music, etc. After the show, he hooked me up with a shirt and a DVD, so I'm pretty amped about that still. Didn't get home until 3:30 in the morning, but it was all worth it!
