Mixvibes stops making their own DJ controllers!

Postby stato72 on 23 Oct 2015, 11:32

Had this from Caroline Quero at Mixvibes today.

"Hi Chris,

we don't produce controllers anymore.
We don't provide new crossfader. "

Is this old news? Looks like Mixvibes only make the software now. Seems they have abandoned their customers who have bought controllers...

Poor show...

 did she have any info as to the typ/make/model,, of the Cross fader ,, at least with that info you might be able to get a replacement from a electronics vendor ,,
cant argue with business decisions made ,,mixvibes has always been a DJ software company choosing to get produced a controller line was always a second venture ,,if it becomes un profitable, then it has to be discountiuned for the company's well being/survival ,makes sense...had both controllers ,,U-Mix Control Pro and umcp2 ,,good controllers ,but for the typ of service and replacement parts ,, it has to be from a dedicated hardware manufacture ,,
have you tried to get a electronics repair shop to look into it ,,

It is old news. The website shows the products being discontinued for a long time. http://www.mixvibes.com/other-products

One of the reasons is that several hardware companies offer decent controllers for various prices. MixVibes build the controllers in an era that digital DJing just started and little to no DJ oriented controllers existed. Several manufacturers over time didn't make it, so MV just ending a product range seems to have made the right decision to survive in a competitive business.
