Hi, im using a macbook with Cross DJ, i have made a aggrevate device with my mixers soundcard(a&h xone 23c) and my macbooks soundcard (build in-microphone) which have 2 inputs. When i try to record with aux it works, but also my microphone is recording at the same time. i don't want this.

anyone who can help me with this?

Could be your Input in Preferences | Audio has the mic.
Set this input to none.

Most reliable would be to disable mic input in your mac settings as this would also avoid the mic sound being send to outputs by an OS routing in parallel of Cross. This could create some echo like effect, or having key strokes being audible. (even with the smooth Mac...).

Don't have a Mac, so you'll have to find it yourself, or wait for a macademic to pass by...

Audio dropouts? Increase audio 'buffer size' value.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

Hm, i am trying to disable the microphone, and use it for another input, and tried to follow this guide: http://smallbusiness.chron.com/disable- ... 49084.html

Though i can't choose "line-in" and if i choose the microphone, and lower the volume on the microphone, nothing gets recorded.

Seems like a solution.
If possible use Mute, sometimes other apllications or touching might open volume, whereas mute usually is somewhat less accidently changed. Also avoids strange 1% (or low) noises.

As Mic has a lower voltage, changing to Line 'turns off' the amplifier for this.

I might know the problem,

"All Mac Books with one audio port have audio in but:
- it is mono
- needs special cable converter from standard mini jack to 4 pin mini jack (the one like in iPhone headphones)."

I can see that my 3.5mm cable only have 4 pins.

Might need to buy a new cable or a converter.

Hmm apparently this doesn't work on new Macbooks, they don't have the options for line-in. Very stupid change.

Seems like i have to buy an external soundcard anyways to be able to record.

And Cross DJ, should fix that you could record with external mixer mode. It works fine with Traktor. Though i need to use Cross DJ becouse my mixers(a&h xone23c)s soundcard only supports timecode vinyl for Cross DJ.

bah.

The audio routing in Cross differs. When using external mixer you basically send out audio at line level. So even if you record this it is not your main out mix that is being recorded.

An external soundcard does provide more options for recording. USB sc usually provide better quality then line in (let alone mic in) jack.
