Xone:23C DVS with Mixvibes

Postby darcybrown on 13 Nov 2014, 17:55

Hi,

I am interested in the Xone 23C and the capabilities with Mixvibes. I understand that to use it with DVS, you have to make an internal modification to the mixer per pg 19 of the manual:
http://www.allen-heath.com/media/AP9433 ... -guide.pdf

What I am looking to do is three things:

1) use the mixer with analog TT (no software, no computer)
2) plug in computer with Mixvibes and be able to use DVS
3) swap from timecoded vinyl to regular vinyl while mixing with Mixvibes

Are #1 and #3 achievable post-modification? For #3, is there a Mixvibes audio thru to do this?

Thanks for any insight!

Hi, Welcome to mixvibes.

Some quick replies:
1. Don't know mixer. So if you can use it stand alone with tt depends on power source. Other issue is phono or line level, which if I recall right are both present at the mixer.

2. That's it. A little setup is needed esp. first time.

3. Yes, you can change on the fly. (would recommend to find a good moment, but if you master it it can be on the fly).
When using tc you must disable monitoring of your inputs (in the soundcard settings). You can monitor in Cross outputs.

Thanks for the reply.

I did a bit more digging, and it appears that once you make the hardware modification, you can't use the same hardware input source for non-DVS. More on that here (@ 7:20):

I'm not sure I understand what you mean about changing on the fly via software, do you have more details on how that works?
