hello
I own a U46DJ mkII audio interface. As well as DJing with mixvibes I also use the interface for production, particularly recording vocals.
The device performs well on my windows laptop, I can record clean vocals with no artifacts. On the macbook pro however, the incoming audio signal is full of digital pops and clicks.
After spending a few days searching for solutions on google I narrowed it down to the USB 3.0 ports on the new macbook pro.
Lots of people with with all different brands of audio interface are experiencing problems while connecting them to USB 3.0 ports. Here is Native Intruments' official statement on the problem:
Native Instruments has conducted compatibility tests with its hardware products connected to USB 3.0 ports of current-generation MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models. Some NI products are experiencing a degraded audio signal caused by USB 3.0 audio driver issues present in recent versions of OS X.
...
Native Instruments is currently in contact with Apple in order to find a solution.
Since then Native instruments have released new drivers for all their audio interfaces to make them fully funtional with USB 3.0
M audio were much less helpful to their customers, posting this statement on their "knowledgebase" FAQ
M-Audio USB devices are not qualified for use on USB 3.0 ports at this time. If you are experiencing problems such as pops, clicks, crackles, dropouts, and distortion, or if your device is not recognized or drops offline, make sure your device is connected to a USB 2.0 (or USB 1.1) port.
Has anyone else had any problems connecting the U46DJ to USB 3 ports? does anyone have a workaround solution for OS X mountain lion? Any help or info is appreciated.
