I've just download and installed the update to iTunes - I wish I hadn't done that! Trust me - it's horrible, and the people on the Apple forums are not happy either... Coverflow, Duplicate Finder, iTunes DJ, are just a few of the things to be dropped from the program, and it looks like it's so geared to users visiting the store it's insane! Stick with 10.7 guys - that was the most usable version to date. Here's an article describing the changes: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57556 ... itunes-11/

I sometimes use iTunes to set up special playlists, which I can use in Cross and VDJ. All is not lost as I've gone back to the earlier version and rebuilt my library. Lost all my playlists though!

not shure if its possible to back up some of that info , the effort would be well worth if it saves this from happening again ,,,i saved all the zip files downloaded of Cross software versions as to have then if something went amiss,, had it happen when norton encountered a problem and required a power eraser to correct the error,, well not paying attention as to what they wanted to delete i allowed it to delete what i thought was short cuts on the desk top for Cross,, wound up deleting the programs,,,well long story short opened up and installed the version of Cross i was using at the time,, alls well ,,i get carful with software updates

3. iTunes DJ iTunes DJ was a neat feature that would let you put together a never-ending playlist in a pinch. You could even tweak it to make sure it wouldn't play the embarrassing chunks of your music collection by limiting selections to a certain playlist or genre (see above).
What made it really stand out, however, was a feature Apple added in iTunes 8.1 that let other people at your party put in a request for a song from their mobile device, and even vote on upcoming tracks. If a party host agreed, that song would go on, making the whole thing feel a little more social. Google's defunct Nexus Q device (which is currently being reworked) wanted to take that same idea and turn it into a standalone product. In iTunes 11, though, it's MIA. |

My migration back to 10.7 has been successful. I did lose my created playlists, but that is a minor thing. I had to do some searching to find some of the sneaky folder/files that iTunes left behind after deleting version 11, but I got there in the end... happy again!

Hell Yeah! Luckily, all of my Cross playlists are intact!
